Poland 2009

Poland was an interesting place to visit.  The cities were a diverse mix of the old and the new.  Centuries old buildings sat next to new, chic clothing stores.  New Mercedes, BMW, or Audi's sat in front of homes older than the United States.  Small towns had historic town squares and rising above the one or two story buildings would be great gothic cathedrals.  Outside the cities, towns, and villages were dense forests and rolling farmlands.  Several of the images here are duplicates, meaning I've posted a color image and a black and white image.  Often, while post processing, I found I liked the color version but also thought the black and white version added character or gave a different perspective.  In other instances I only posted a color version or a black and white version.   The horses at the bottom of the page of native Polish horses, known as konic.  These horses aren't wild but their ancestors once roamed the Polish the countryside.
